ACE AMATEUR BOXING CLUB

There are four levels formulated by ACE ABC. Each level is to certify that you are
at a certain stage of your training week by week. Each level is a progression of
abilities; from punch combinations, to bag work, and of your cardiovascular endurance.
For those who wish to compete Often ask us. How soon can one progress to the next level. Quite a few factors come into play; for instance, coordination, timing, cardiovascular condition, drill speed (punching), etc. There are hundreds different boxing drills that are spread out over Levels I, II, & III. Not only must the individual have learned & mastered each of the steps/drills before moving on, but much depends on how hard a person is willing to work. It is important to keep up with your roadwork outside the gym & of course, keep up with your Gym training by not canceling. Your coach can answer any questions about the levels & can give you an idea of when you can expect to advance to the next level.
Level I
Introduction to boxing:
Throwing straight punches

Level I is where your timing verses
your coordination is developed using varied types of boxing drills. Balance & awkwardness
is corrected/perfected before advancing to Level II. Also, your conditioning must
be in tip top shape before moving onward. This is why it is important to keep up
with your cardio, as in jump rope, sprints, jogging, running machine, or whatever
your exercise choice may be. Shadow boxing on your own plays a big role in cardio
improvement. As your shadowboxing improves, then occasionally shadow box with 1 lb.
to 2 lb. weights in each hand.

upon approval,
you are then matched up with another for sparring. Your opponent will
have similar
skill levels, along with height & weight.
We cover all the aspects of amateur boxing up to competition level. Boxing is a sport that requires dedication, hard work, and hours of training. 70% of boxing is conditioning, the other 30% is skill and heart. There are two types of boxers, one that just trains day after day, and the other that trains to compete and win.
