Edd Kelly has just qualified as ABA Assistant coach.  those who know Edd will know his  enthusiasm and love for the sport. Edd has been involved in boxing for many years and  will bring a wealth of experience

Luke Barker has had his first competition.

We travelled to the crewe football ground on Thursday 26th march for the crewe abc show. His opponent for the contest had a  2 previous bouts an so had a little more experience  but Dave and I believed Luke had the necessary skills and was up to the challenge.

The first round was fast with a lot of punches thrown by both sides. Luke opponent had come to try to take home the winners trophy that was for sure.  He put a lot of pressure on Luke in the first  minute and  caught  Luke with a very good straight right which caused the referee to give Luke an eight count. Instead of being discouraged it spurred Luke in to action he started to relax and all the training started to come in to play.

 

For rounds two and three Luke opponent  decide that he had better stay on his toes to avoid  Luke’s  push forward but he was not  quite fast enough the referee had to give his opponent  standing eight count in the second and had a serious look in the third.  Luke won a unanimous decision
